Role Overview:
Seeking a talented, trend-focused, and detail-oriented individual with a passion for beauty. This role will support the expansion of the NPD and Buying team with the execution of new product and core product development. This position is fast-paced, ever-changing, and requires a team member who is confident in self-managing and prioritizing tasks, working to tight deadlines, while maintaining a consistent level of productivity and output. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in product development, managing supplier relationships, exposure to stock and critical path management, a creative flair, and a passion for beauty. This role reports directly to the Head of Buying.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire product development process for a specific hero brand within the portfolio, ensuring all stages are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate closely with the Graphic Designer to create detailed design briefs for formulation, componentry, and packaging.
- Forecast and manage stock levels for all product lines within the assigned brand to ensure consistent availability.
- Conduct financial analysis on the assigned product range to assess profitability and performance.
- Manage product samples and maintain daily communication with the supply base to ensure production schedules are met on time.
- Work alongside the Marketing Team to ensure product samples and necessary information for campaigns and product launches are well-organised and delivered on time.
- Oversee product display management, including counter displays, floor stands, press boxes, and retail window displays.
- Regularly monitor competitor pricing, new product launches, and market trends to stay competitive.
- Stay informed on emerging beauty trends and innovations to keep the brand at the forefront of the industry.
- Collaborate as part of a close-knit, cross-functional team to achieve product-related objectives across all departments, including Buying, Design, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience in Buying, ideally within the beauty industry.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong initiative with a proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.
- Creative flair with exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for trends.
- Excellent critical thinking, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships across teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and a solid understanding of business dynamics.
- Exceptional time management, organisation, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Genuine passion for the beauty industry and its evolving trends.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
